Yep, I've got it
My new SV1000K3
Just picked her up yesterday and spent today cleaning her up.
Can't ride yet, out of state bike, so I have to jump through some extra hoops to get her on the road.
Don't plan on leaving gstwins, I joined up at svr, but it's just not the same. Much more friendly over here.
Anyway, enough of that. On to the pics.

The previous owner put the badge on the fender, he said everyone though the headlight/windscreen looked like a transformer.

K time to get out of the closet ...
Maybe the buddha is hiding one in his gar.
Maybe he's so racked with guilt he cannot admit it.
Cool.
Buddha.

Seriously...is this in English? What is in the closet? What do you have in your gar? And, who is so racked with guilt, and exactly what can he not admit? Does the Buddha come with a translator? Can Sr****h come out and play? I could always understand that guy.
You could ???

Sorry but the sv650 is a POS.
The gladius is worse.
The 1000 part for part is better built, better designed and far better every freaking part.
Find a 1000, new 03's lying around in dealers for 6K New 07's at 7K and its fast becoming the classic of choice for squids who are upgrading from 650's.
I can mae a 100 strong list right now why its better than a 650. It got killed by a $$$ tag - 8599 new and 5699 for a 650 didn't jell.
@7k new for 07 it butchers a 5-6K SV650.
Oramac - I have a sv1000. Shhhhh dont tell no one. And I dont have a damn gs that runs (OK OK got that one running that my friend dumped off @ my place).
Shhh tell no one.
Cool.
Buddha.
BTW R'gal has one too, I scored her heli clip on's and ss brake lines and stem and triple which are on mine now ... Booya buddha strikes again.
OK OK but them clip on's are well worth it. Super cool stuff.
So while you're all fantasizing about wearing her leathers, I actually got R'gal clip on's ... whooohoooo ...
Cool.

Good looking bike but most of all I like the front fender emblem :thumb:
Is that one off of flebay ?
If so the paint will only last about 4 months :2guns:
but then it will be all shiny.

I have no idea, I didn't ask the guy where he got it. But I'd venture a guess that it was ebay.
I just got back from a little test ride, and I have to say one of the main side effects of oramac syndrome is torque out the wazoo! :icon_twisted:
congrats! looks good! :thumb:
Thanks man.
I'm tellin' ya. If you have to have any syndrome...the oramac syndrome is a good one. After owning this SV for a month, it really feels more to me like my GS on steroids. I mean, I still get that twin exhaust note, the ergonomics are similar due to the way I had my GS set up, and as mentioned, the weight is similar.
While people may say that no one needs more than a 500cc bike, I really like the power delivery of this bike. It has usable power on demand at low rpms, so I don't have to feel like a squid with my four-banger screamin' just to get in the power band. It's also nice to have that power in reserve for passing. Nothing like having to build up a head of steam, then hoping the road stays clear long enough to pass granny before getting to that "No Passing" sign. The brakes have become more confidence inspiring. And, I never really noticed how squirrely the handling was on the GS until I experienced the suspension on this bike.
I loved my GS, but it was ten years old, and it was getting to that 'nickel and dime' phase. It was going to need new tires, new fork seals, a valve adjustment, a new chain, a new rear sprocket, work on the chin faring (it was developing stress fractures, fresh paint or powdercoating of the frame, paint on the exhaust, etc. Then, after all that work, I could have the pleasure of running all over my buddies in twisties, then getting left in the dust exiting the corners. Now I'll be able to do both.
As cernunos used to say(for those of you that knew him): Love the baby GS, and this forum. :thumb:
Straight for the 1k huh? Have fun! Be gentle with the right hand for a while. ;)

The GS taught me how not only how to ride, but how to ride safe and smart. I know that I'll use those skills on this new bike. You aren't kidding about the right hand thing!
Well put, oramac. :thumb:
You'll do fine. :)
Suzuki did an excellent job with the SV's. I have no doubt it will go down as a classic motorcycle. At some stage, I want to get another one.
Oramac - core the exhaust cans. I can do it for ~50 bucks.
The scroll is removed, the pea shooter is removed and I insert a baffle in that end and weld it to the end cap.
It all looks stock at the end of it but is louder and flows better.
Cool.

Someone did that the broom handle way to the stock can on my gsxr, it was loud but sounded bad at rev>7000k. I tossed a yoshi TRS on it and it sounds a load better, not that i see 7k very often on the tach :icon_lol: :icon_lol:
not that i see 7k very often on the tach Never see below it either huh? :thumb:
This is near about what the yosh oval cans look like on the inside.
It does not have that hard edged noise. At all. The baffle is the key.
Cool.

I'm already ahead of you on that one.
What did you do. :D
That baffle I got I thought was really instrumental in getting in nice and burbly.

So far, I've removed the end caps and drilled nine 1" holes around the pea shooter. I also trimmed the pea shooter back, and the combination has made it much throatier. I don't know if I want to go much further than that yet. If I decide to, I can gut it the way I did my GS. I'll have to ride it some more to see if I'm satisfied with the sound.
OK the way that SV can works is like it has 3 chambers.
Call it 1, 2 and 3 from the end cap. Closest to the end cap is 1 and farthest is 3.
Gas enters 3 and immediately goes through that metallic scroll part.
It then goes through a tube that connects 1 to 3 bypassing 2. Solid pipe cross the 2 plates that encase chamber 2.
Then they return to chamber 2 through a small hole in the wall between it and chamber 3.
The peashooter gets the gas from chamber 2 and out into the open.
The scroll is the largest choking thing there is.
The thing that you did is, it goes from chamber 3 through to chamber 1 and out through the holes.
Getting the scrolls out flows better but does not make more noise from here on out for you.
I actually didn't cut holes in my end cap. I pulled the pea shooter out, and sent my baffle straight to the tube that conencts 3 to 1. Almost exactly like a yosh oval can.
Cool.
Buddha.
I see. I've seen a cutaway diagram of the SV cans, so I understand what you're saying. However, my worry about "free flowing" is would the stock pcm handle the change, or would it need remapped?
My ecm was fine. I am yet to mod the TRE or synch the throttle bodies or even fit the IAS mod that I have just got.
Then you can always burn a good map from any suzi dealer for your modded pipe, Its an eeprom. Should be very cheap but they sometimes can gouge you.
Cool.
