Looking good. Very cool orange color. I'd be interested to know how the rattle can job holds up.

nice, you should paint a "01" on one side of the tank and a confederate flag on the other with that color

Yeah.. and I can see Daisy sitting on it now... mmmmmm...  :thumb:

Oh, that's why I told you to put the petcock on PRI when your bike was starving for fuel.. to rule in or out vacuum operated fuel valve.  Both of your cylinders were actually missing, but I guess it seemed like one to you.

Get this.  My bike was starving for fuel at high speed last summer.  I started riding on PRI to combat the problem.  Since then I've forgotten a few times and left it on RES or ON while riding.  The problem has gone away!  Could it be that I often throw a couple ounces of Marvel Mystery Oil in the gas?  The world may never know!

That's a great idea!   Need a Confederate flag helmet!   That would rock the house!

Giddy Up...   :icon_razz:

Looks good NC flat lander, I love the grin on your face...

What kind of bars do you have on there?  They look like drag bars.

PS. For your own personal safety, not that I give a crap, but don't ever sport ANYTHING confederate in North Philley,  Dukes of Hazard reference or not...

Those are superbike bars.   I hear ya about rockin the stars and bars in enemy territory :icon_mrgreen:.   As far as that goes I never understood why a Malcolm X on a garment is ok but a Confederate X is not.   Seems kinda hypocritical.

Yea, your absolutely correct.  The image of  Malcolm X holds the same kind of supremacy and oppression to white people as the confederate flag does for blacks.

WTF.....

I think you're mistaking the confederate flag for a klan hood or something.  the confederate x is just a flag for the southern states.  by your logic, the Afghani flag would be the symbol for terrorism...

No race wars please.

Just Please know what you are talking about before you try and slam someone.  The original confederate flag is a square "battle flag" for the southern confederate army, all so the "battle flag of the army of northern Virgina".  What did the south fight for again?  It was not a National flag or even a state flag which you are comparing "Afghanistan's" flag.  It was created by Confederate General P.G.T. Beauregard who did not want any confusion as to what side you were on during battle.  So he made sure that the flag was unlike any other "American" flag National or state.  These are the facts....

I was simply stating that the image of  Malcolm X does not or never has stood for the side of war, oppression, or supremacy PERIOD....

The f%$k is this.   Malcolm X was a freedom fighter.  He advocated peaceful means of obtaining freedom for African Americans first, but ulimately Freedom by "Any Means Necessary".  Now ultimately this means that Freedom and self preservation was to be  achieved by violence against light skinned people if it could not be achieved otherwise.  This is irrefutable correct?  I mean we are on the same page here right?   So my point is simply, a dark skinned person in this country may feel secure to wear the symbol of a person who publicly advocated the destruction of light skinned people, but as a light skinned person,  I am considered a racist if i wear the battle flag of the Confederacy, which was never intended as a symbol of violence against African Americans.

I don't get all bent out of shape when someone shows up at work rockin' a Malcolm X t-shirt, but if I were to wear a Confederate flag t-shirt, I would be in violation of the dress code.    That is why I consider it hypocrisy, and it is born out of pure ignorance of historical fact.

BTW the South fought for "States Rights" and a limited government.   African Americans were unfortunately deemed property by most Southern states, but their continued bondage was not the reason for the war.   The South disagreed with the Federal Gov't, and seceded, which sparked a ground invasion from the North.   That's why the Civil War is also known as " The War of Yankee Agression".

Ultimately if anyone judges me a racist if I were to display the Rebel Flag, they should read the inscription on the back of the helmet in question....."Heritage not Hatred", and perhaps this will spur them to educate themselves a little.   They obviously don't know me.

Commuterdude, I agree with everything you wrote except one thing.  The Confederacy made a huge mistake which gave the Union the legal right to attack.  The Confederates fired on Ft. Sumter.  Had they not done that, we would be two nations today.  The secession was legal.  Firing on Ft. Sumter was not.

That may be true.  Was the garrison fired on pre or post secession?  If post secession and called upon to surrender the fort they might have been lawfully an occupying foreign force.  At any rate this post is about my bike not racism perceived or otherwise.   I am as much to blame about hi jacking my own thread as anyone else I suppose, and for that I apologize.   I do like the helmet!  Many of our countrymen died for that flag in defense of their homes and neighbors, no small sacrifice that should not be discounted or misconstrued.

Like I said before, I don't really care.

Nice paint job, I am envious, not of the paint job though.  It is well below freezing here in Mn and supposed to snow Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.  I have really had it with winter....

Im not too sure abotu anyone else but that general lee joke didnt fly over my head.  Im guess some people on here have never watched the dukes of hazard.  That was a refereance to the color of orange used in this particular paint job.  Im sure there wasnt any racist undertone meant.
