Hi everyone.
I'm trying to take off the carburetor, but I can't figure out how to remove the throttle cables. I've loosend the bolts and detached them from the 'T', but the thin wire still loops around the carburetor.
I've looked at the poor mans caburetor tutorial, but that bike seems to be set up somewhat differently than mine.
Any advice on how to remove the throttle cables? It's a 2005 bike.
when i did mine all i did was turn the linkage they hook to like it would move while using the throttle hold it with one hand and grab the cable and remove it then remove the other.
The cables are still attached via a "knob" at the end of the cable. That knob is then attached to the carb. Follow the cable right to the end, and you'll see where you have to detach it.
If you imagine a round peg with a cable attached to it. No imagine a block with a round hole in it and a cut out for the cable to sit in. Now put that peg into round hole in the block and pull on the cable. That the concept. Hope that helps.
Thanks for the quick responses - I got the carburetor off.
Now I just need to clean it and re-attach it with out running into any more problems...
make sure you use a good screw driver so to not strip the screw heads. i make sure to hahe the carbs upside down on a hard surface so i can get lots of pressure on the screw mine came right now no problems.
