I need to replace the original tires on a 97 GS I bought late last summer. For $7 & $10 more respectively (front & back) would you buy an H rated Lasertec or a V rated Road Rider? I am a new 55 year old rider also from NE Ohio. I have appreciated reading your comments and respect your experienced opinion. Thanks
You must be looking at those closeout Lasertec out at Shadetree in GS500 OEM sizes or the price differance would be a lot more. I really liked my Lasertecs and thought they were very good tires close to radials in handling. Seems the guys over in the UK that did that bias ply comparo test for Bike magazine didn't think much of the Lasertecs and rated the Roadriders much better handling and faster on the track. But I run mine on the public roads. Anyway you can't go wrong with the Lasertecs at that price.
The Roadriders are lasting much longer for me and the handling is adequate all around so I think I'll be getting another set of them after the present ones wear out. I got 10k miles from my rear Lasertec and already have 14k miles on my rear Roadrider and expect about 2k more so that makes them a bargain I think even compared to closeout Lasertec prices.
Here's that test I refered to:

Hey Jack! Ever tried Kenda tires? I'm reading good reviews about them for every day riding, they're made in Taiwan, and they're $60 each for our bike. I need a new front tire by the end of this year so maybe I'll try one and let you guys know.
