OK, I did not want to jack the "What do you keep under your seat" thread so I started this one.
is the Shamwow worth the cheddar? Give me an honest review please, not one of those I can't possible be a dumb ass for buying this POS from the "As Seen on TV Store".
Thanks.
Never bought one, but I've heard from people who have that they are a complete rip-off ---there is even a couple of people on youtube who have demonstrated that they don't do any off the amazing things that the adds claim. Save your money!
There is a badass thing called the absorber I think. They sell it at walmart for around $10. Buy that instead, it works like a charm.
yeah man, a chamois cloth is nothing new. You can find them at any autoparts place or walmart as previous post pointed out. I don't know how they manage to sell that thing like it's some new amazing technology. :cookoo: I'll give it to them though, the commercial is comically and unnecessarily shady.
Same guy also sells the slap chop, you'll love his nuts. (It's in the slap chop infomercial)
x2 on The Absorber.
I agree with acpreston. Chammis can be had at any auto parts store, they're cheap, and they work. They're not magic, but they do work. Bikes aren't really big enough to need them. Better for cars and household clean-up.

Dries off your entire car. Freaking amazing thing. Best investment I've ever made.
For a bike I much prefer a microfiber, the absorber is great and I have a couple but microfibers are gentler on paint so since you don't need to dry acres of bodywork in a hurry to prevent water spots like cars the absorber is less needed. Absorbers and the like are more likely to scratch when they catch a bit of grit.
True they might not be new but that doesn't mean they're all made equal. A lot of people complain about how well they work but those dumb-asses usually bought the aftermarket one. If it doesn't say "Made in Germany"...Dont Buy It!!! The others come from China, the land of trash.
Cool, thanks for the info...
Chamois - Good
ShameWow - POS
Got it... :thumb:

"MARCH 27--Meet Vince Shlomi. He's probably better known to you as the ShamWow Guy, the ubiquitous television pitchman who has been phenomenally successful peddling absorbent towels and food choppers. Shlomi, 44, was arrested last month on a felony battery charge following a violent confrontation with a prostitute in his South Beach hotel room."

good shammies are also great for long extened hikes to use in place of towels after your cold bath in a mountain spring or on a long canoe trip to dry off before you settle for the night. They are an awesome comfort item, get you dryer faster, and they wiegh less and take up less space than a towel. Ive never used a shamwow though.
Sham wow is like all the other TV infomercial wannabe shammies. Made of a rough felt that's scratchier than hell when new and when old they pill like a bad fleece sweater.
