Title: gs550 ENGINE IN A 500 FRAME?
Post by: starshooter10 on March 25, 2009, 09:42:00 PM
so... i've scrapped the idea of the CB750 block...

the whole 5 spd thing the fact that it's 40% more LBS and WAY wide

it would ruin what i like about the GS (low flickable bike)

so...

to all you GS nuts!

whgat abouthte say... 79 GS550 block?

theres on one craigs list right now for 150 $

and kinda off the wall what about the GPZ600 block (liquid cool) hows that compare in size/weight to a stock GS block and to the GS550 block?

GS550 engine looks just as wide if not wider than CB750 :

bore for CB750 is 62mm and 56mm for GS550

Really? You don't think they're kinda in the same league in terms of size / weight? You're not going to find a 30-yr old 4-cyl block that's similar in size and weight to our 30-yr old twin!
