Title: Problems after rejet... Help...
Post by: LucPro on March 27, 2009, 08:51:25 PM
Ok so I did a rejet on my 04 and it was working great... A one or two times I was riding and my bike lost the power and started idling rough. It quickly returned to normal. It happened again and now it is stuck like that. Any help?????

My bike also has an issue like that. after doing full 1-4 gear acceleration, it feels like it is being starved of fuel and then after a minute or so power returns. it has done this after my re-jet.

What is your float height? What color are your plugs? The answer to these two questions will tell you a lot. Also, do you have a hanging idle? If you rev the bike up and it takes forever to go back to idle, you could have created a vacuum leak when you took the carbs apart... The tiny oring at the top of the carb is an easy one to loose, but not the only way to create a vacuum leak...

What happened with mine was that a jet came loose and one cylinder was bogging down so only one was firing.

Ill bet your vacuum petcock is not flowing any fuel at full throttle (because theres no manifold vac at full throttle) so after a few gears theres no gas left in the bowls. do this petcock mod and run in the new position when your gonna go fast, i had a similar problem and this fixed it, its free and took 30 or 40 SECONDS.
