I have a bike locally that I'm intersted in. Here's the description...
For Sale is a 1983 Suzuki GS550E Four Cylinder bike. I do not have a title for the bike so it is being sold as PARTS ONLY.
The Bike runs well - new battery, reciently new rear tire. The bike does not drive however. The engine runs well once warmed up (non working choke) and the transmission shifts through the gears fairly well but there is something wrong with the clutch so the bike does not move. I've tried replacing the clutch cable but no luck. Front brake works but the rear is frozen in the open position. There is a engine guard/highway bar on the right side of the bike but not on the left. All turn signals and the headlight worked last I checked.
10997 on the Odometer.
What could possible cause this and is it worth it to fix. He's asking $400, I was going to offer $200 and see if I can fix it.
stiff stuck spring on clutch assy.? and teh non title part. can you find a titled frame, or a wrecked frame with title?

if it fires right up, doesn't smoke, and idles after a warm up, ya $200.
you'll have to do like yami said, find a frame or ebay everything. that would suck. :)
Why not just file for a lost title rather than waste money on another frame.

Sometimes a royal PITA , last time i did that, had toi place my property up as collateral in case item was stolen. usually a bit of a Buddha Loves You
I ended up not buying this bike because of no title. There was another great deal on a 1983 kawa 550 ltd. Owner wanted $300 and said it ran last summer but not now. being cheap I offered $150. Next email I got from him was that someone came over with a new battery and started her up and drove her home.
