Title: advice one best chain and sprocket set
Post by: dorris1988 on March 31, 2009, 08:57:38 AM
What's the best chain and sprocket set? As there are loads around and I don't fancy buying a crap set I have to change and constantly be playing with.

Well IMHO......sprockets are all pretty much the same regardless of make and the chain and sprocket life depends on the amount of care and maintainance they get...... NOT what make they are A cheap chain that gets cleaned and lubricated every week will last longer than an expensive chain that gets cleaned, lubed and adjusted every 6 months

I say do a search and buy an O or X ring (there is no significant difference) kit for a middle of the road price, then make a point of cleaning lubing and adjusting it on a regular basis.

steel is steel...depending on budget
buy the cheapest sprockets and a mid grade chain
cleaning and lubing is very important to get the chain to last
