Title: Is it against the rules for me to post a link to my site here?
Post by: TurkeyChicken on April 02, 2009, 01:53:48 PM
Before I do it, I just want to make sure you all don't think it's spam and ban me or something.

I've been working on a site over the last week or so that will let people search for and find motorcycle rides throughout the US.  It's in a pretty basic form right now (it just has searching/finding/adding/rating/commenting/photos).

What I wanted to ask is if it's cool to ask members here to input some of their favorite rides.

If you all have a problem with it, i certainly won't post the link.  If you think it's fine, let me know and i'll post it up.

Haha, you never can be too careful though.  I've seen people banned for less on other forums.

Anyway, the site is IncrediRides.com (http://www.incredirides.com)

As I said, it's pretty basic at this point.  I just want to start getting some rides added to the site as I'm building it.

The add process is pretty simple.  Click on the "Add a Ride" link at the top of the page and follow the instructions.  It's basically using Google Maps to chart your ride.

Thanks to anyone who adds one

it's a great idea, but there's already another site called motorcycleroads.us (http://motorcycleroads.us) that offers almost the exact same info.

Yeah, but it looks like it hasn't been updated since 1995.  There are a few others like this, but they're either confusing to use or look like crap.

Why don't you add your link on your profile where you put "2001 GS500  -- basically stock right now" and your Fuelly?  That way everyone can see it at the bottom of every post you post.

Thanks.  Yeah, that's how a few of the ones I added for the Albuquerque one are.  they're just nice to go do if you have an hour or two to burn in the afternoon on a nice day.
