Title: Service Manual
Post by: Craig on September 25, 2003, 08:56:12 PM
I blindly followed the link on this site as I was exhausted at the time, and bought a service manual for Pre-1997 GS500. However, I drive a 1998. For any of you that have had both a pre-1998 and a post-1998 GS, are the any major differences that would make it a necessity to buy a new manual?

Nope. I have a '96 and a '99 and the manuals work fine for both.

Someday I would like to know if there are any wiring differences for the '99, but I doubt there are.  At least, nothing major.  I used a '97(?) wiring diagram to diagnose the "ignition triggers" problem on my '99 ealrier this year, and everything that I looked at matched up.

If you bought the clymers manual it should have been 89-02.  That is the one that I got when I recieved my manual.

i know my 97 manual works for my 2001 for some of the wiring stuff. There are differences for my 01 but for the most part its all the same for me..
