Do I need to buy "with rubber" or "without rubber"?
Also, anyone with experience with these bar ends or any other nice replacements please chime in.
thanks

It depends on whether or not your bars have threaded inserts in the end. Look in the end of your handle bar, if it's hollow then you need the one with rubber because it expands and holds the bar end in the hollow bar. If your bars are stock than they probably have the threaded insert, in which case you would need the one without rubber.
So go check your bars, or your old bar end for that matter and see which one you need.
I dont see what year your bike is. For the 2008 gs500f you will need the one with rubber. or you can just fish out the old one when you remove the old bar end.
I got a pair of carbon fiber bar ends that came off my '04 F model. All I ask is help with shipping. But, mine just went in and I used an allen wrench to finish the install.
come to think of it I believe it did have a rubber insert
Lemme know!
