I was wondering if anyone knew how well that would work?
I saw on the wiki that a r6 exhaust from a 98-01 r6. Can anyone tell me what the difference is in diameter?
that looks like my stock 05 gs can
you have to make a custom midpipe, and then you have to find someone who can weld to the pipe already on the can. the pipe already on it won't work as is. a mig welder wont weld to that pipe, my muffler guy tried to when I had that exact can. ended up clamping it on, and never could get it so seal up completely
Thanks, I guess i'll be passing this one up then.
I paid 50 on ebay for mine, only to end up shooting it up with 12 gauge slugs :2guns: :2guns:
Didn't want to start a new thread.
Would this fit on the bike? Has anyone tried or know if the pipes would match up?

all most anything can be made to fix just depends on how much money and work you wanna put into it.
Yeah, I don't want anything that'll take a lot of work. I want something that will size right up as far as the pipes go. I know mounting will be an entirely different issue
well if you dont want alot of work the leave the bike stock. you dont get a custom look without work involved. :thumb:
The only "easy way" is to buy a full system by V&H or Jardine... If you want to buy just the can you will have to have someone cut and weld it on or make you a flange to bolt it on. The GS500 has next to ZERO aftermarket parts  Only Vance & Hines or Jardine still make full systems for it... No exhaust is really worth the time and effort IMO on the GS.. It doesnt really sound any better and does nothing for HP. + you will need to re-jet your carbs as well
its hard to tell from the pic, as it doesn't show the mounting flange, or the support bracket,. I believe someone on here is running that exhaust already though, maybe they will see this thread
