Nice. How hard was it? I like the shortened exhaust and front disc.

thanks.  It's not too hard.  There's a few little things that were kind of difficult to work thru but with some patience it can fit just like factory should have made it.

Looks good! Where did you get those silver covers for the gear case?

My cover isn't silver anymore.  I painted it black and it honestly hurt me to paint it.  chuck81 on this board makes them and they're extremely well crafted.  He's listed in the for sale section right now.

That's an older photo.  Now it's got clipons under the triple.  They're the second best mod I've ever done!

Like what tools did you need?

you could do it with just basic tools, a hacksaw and a dremel.

I believe 91-98.  It is all years CBR 600 F2 and F3.  They're identical.

Yeah, i thought those looked familiar. Ill have to change out the pegs, though. The right one is startiing to sag and my foot slips off every now and then under "spirited" conditions  O0

all of the stock bolts from the cbr and the gs carried over, except for the 2 frame bolts on each side.  You just need something with a smaller diameter head like allen bolts.  I happined to have some intake manifold bolts from a car that worked perfectly.  You have to move the bolt holes out about 1/4 inch with a dremel.  The stock bolts don't fit into the recesses of the CBR rearsets once you do that.

So I am about to undertake either a f3 rearset coversion or the $17 peg conversion. I don't know how much if any the f3 lowers the pegs but one rider who is 6'5" likes it(!!!) Mk1inCali, I think

It looks like the $17 ebay specials will drop the pegs 3/4".

But I might have a line on CBRF3 rearsets for $85. Is that a good deal? Will it drop the pegs? Should I just get the cheapo pegs.

I need something with more legroom soon. And I can't afford a new bike.

The cheap pegs drop it a small amount but not too much it seems.

Ineedanap is that your sunfire in the background of your pic? Is it a GT?

F2/F3 rearsets will raise the pegs 1 inch and move them back about 2 inches.

That's a sunfire SE named red-a-licious.  We bought it for $1 from a family member, drove it for 2 years, and sold it last month for $1 to another family member.  So far four different people in my family have owned the car and it just won't seem to die.  Great car!

If you're looking for more legroom, the rearsets are probably the wrong way to go, they'll make you feel more cramped. I definitely want to get some of the cbr rearsets someday, but I just put the gsxr pegs on and want to try them out for a little while first. I also just did the clipons under the top clamp, but haven't really gotten to try them out yet.

Ooh, and from what I've seen on the cbr forsale forum, they usually sell for $90 shipped or so, so $85 sounds about fair.

cool. $17 eBay specials next. If that isn't what I want, then I will mod the pegs with an extension next.

Sweet Nap I got a 99 Sunfire GT vert. Her name is Sunshine though! But, man that 2.4l engine sure does sound good in that little car and the dual exhaust sounds nice too. I just gotta find a new top for ole girl and she'd be awesome blossom again. Stupid burglars!
