Title: WTB: stator and cover
Post by: ~*STEPH*~ on April 20, 2009, 02:04:02 PM
Hi everyone!  I'm new to the forum and just got my first bike this past weekend.  Does anyone have a stator adn cover they're willing to part with?

Hi there,

If you need a stator coil, I have a friend who has a brand new aftermarket Electrosport replacement that he'd sell. He ordered it and didn't need it for his bike.
It is a model number ESG010 Electrosport replacement stator.

The aftermarket ElectroSport unit puts out more watts than the stock unit, which is a good thing especially if you run extra lights or a better horn, etc.
It's also brand new.

From the company's Web site:

http://www.electrosport.com/products/product-detail-410.php

Details:
This heavy duty stator can be used as a higher output replacement for the OE stator. Output is about 20% more than the OE stator provides. This new stator is built with the highest grade lamination materials and the copper windings are triple insulated for maximum reliability. To ease installation we supply it with extra connectors and wire sleeving. It is a very cost-effective replacement unit for when the OE stator failed, and it comes with a full one year warranty.

It fits 1989-2006 GS500s.
They sell for $119 new plus shipping and I know he will give a good deal on it because he couldn't return it once he'd ordered it.
Let me know if you are interested.
Yours,
Trwhouse

Ok thanks. Let me finish tearing it apart tonight, and i'll let you know.  But i'm pretty sure it's the stator.

Thanks for the offer. I tore the bike apart last night and it's the starter. I was pretty sure it was Goats, but it wasn't.
