Title: 2 things I want to do
Post by: average on April 20, 2009, 02:22:20 PM
So, at some point in my life time I actually want to get my M endorsement(NC) and for that I need to get the bike inspected.

3 things need to happen for this to become a reality.

1. I need to put on the reflectors that I've collected.
2. I need to get the horn working.  :technical:
3. I need to add a brake light switch to my bike which I believe desentegrated(sp) into Ken's hands when he  installed my rearsets  :dunno_white:
3a. And if the place I take it too is anal enough (Barnett's) , I'll probably need to replace my exhaust because the ebay Wileyco is leaking.

Since my car is in the shop and I use the bike for daily commuting; troubleshooting the harness is out of the question. I simply don't have time to do that. I have 3 horns; there's no way that either of them work  :nono: My plan is to just straightwire my horn and I just need a bit of insight on how to do it. I also don't remember how the brake light swithc goes and ronayers.com has it listed with the harness so its not attached to anything. If you guys could point me in the right direction I would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Diaz

The horn can be as easy as turning the screw on the front of it (center)  in/out with the key on and horn button pushed in. if that doesnt work, check for voltage when you hit the botton.

See if you got 12V across the horn plug when you hit the button.
Then its the horn that is bad.
We need to get on the werase's case and bug him with a case of skunk beer.

I swear this time I'd ride on in the GR ... no use having a GR if you dont ride the bugger ...
Maybe I'd really bug the wearse and ride on the virago.
Cool.

Scott, thanks for your reply but I have atleast 3 threads dealing with my horn issue. I have ruled out the tuning part...not that....thanks,though   :thumb:

Maybe it would help if you have all three threads together so we are not wasting OUR time suggesting things you've already done! Just an observation! But just sayin!

Okay, if we're not helping then there's no need to post. I said what I said to scott because he posted the exact same response in another thread. But thanks for your input also, Mary

the whole tip leaks around the rivets. I'll probably head up sometime this week to Ken's and have him look at it.
