the cutoff point for the headlight on my F is way too low, like, it's about 30 feet in front of me on the ground, and above that there's no light, so i have to have my bright on at all times. is this the way it's supposed to be?
Nope :p
Yeah, I have a similar issue. What I was going to do was shim the headlight. You take some washers depending on the thickness and add them to the 2 top points in the cowl were the headlight slides on at. I haven't done it yet but it's what I had in mind.

Have you adjusted it all the way up already? Something must not be lining up right.

Sounds like your headlight isn't aimed correctly. I don't have a manual covering the F, but you should be able to tip the whole headlight assembly up a bit. On the E model, you just loosen the bolts holding the headlight to the mounting ears and tilt everything up. It should take you mere moments to make the necessary adjustment.
On the F there are two adjustment knobs that control height and side to side aim. Though they are kinda funky in that they control the movement diagonally, it seems they are 2 of three mount points and you have to fiddle with both of them to correctly aim vertical or horizontal.
2? I've only seen the one on the left hand side. Where's the other one?
There's one below and to the left and the other one is above and to the right, kinda tucked away under the dash.
