Title: snapped bolt problem
Post by: flair.14 on April 24, 2009, 01:44:29 PM
I snapped a bolt that holds the two halves of the crankcase while putting it back together. The is one of the longer ones and it snapped near the thread while I was tightening it to spec (grr).

Any ideas how I can get this bolt out? I am thinking of drilling it out with a drill bit that is just a little larger than the diameter of the bolt.

Easy-out.  On the list of Things To Never Be Without in a garage.

Maybe a small torque wrench, too, to prevent repeats.
