Title: Need new carbs!
Post by: lopee on April 28, 2009, 05:45:38 AM
So, Long story short, need new older 2 jet carbs.

The long is, after many, many fouled plugs, i want new (to me) carbs. The diagnosis is that the right side carb's air/fuel mixture screw/needle seat has been stripped by me, or i like to think the previous owner cause i didnt even know it was there untill last season. The cars are clean and set up properly (except for right air/fuel needle seat) and floats are set to the right height. I have been to The Buddha's house and cleaned them with his expert supervision, so yes there clean. Just looking for newer ones or even ones to try to make sure that is the problem.

Its called a rail rack. Its a bracket yes, however you take that "bracket" off ... hard as it may be to get those screws out ... and instantly ... your carbs become worth 1/2 what they were worth. All the carb operations except for a T fitting leak is done with the carb assembly as 1 unit. I've seen Idiots on fleabay split them ... In fact I've seen the same geniuses remove the remote reservoir off a GSXR shock and sell the reservoir, the hose and the shock separate. I usually suggest them to remove the spring and collar etc too.
Carbs are worth the most as an intact assembly with all stock parts, atleast in the GS500's gstwin world. We have a formula to get that set up to work. Not with DJ ... not with nothing else.
Cool.

So bottom line I have two carbs with the RAIL RACK, excuse me! The complete set just the way they came off the bike, nothing missing nothing damaged. If you think $100.00 is to much for a complete set "rail rack" and assembled then you make me a reasonable offer + shipping.
