I have not been riding my GS500 and frankly whatever riding I do right now is so little it spends more time in the garage than out on the road. I rather see it get love from someone else.
So that being said I have a few questions.
1. I have a custom plate, I want to keep it but unassigned. Anybody know how I do that? I guess i'll sell the bike without the plate then.
2. I will have to cut my rear plate 'running lights' and use a 'inline 'connector' or something. Not sure how best to go about it. Those running lights are licence plate LED bolts. They are wired to the running lights. One could use a different running light but I need to cut the cable and have it such that the next user can put in their own running lights or use the existing ones with the provided connector. THat being said I need a small connector that can slip through the licence plate bolts. I need to cut it or i cant take out my custom plate.
3. Besides the regular maintainance, is there anything else I should do before I put her up for sale.
Its sad to let it go but I am not riding it and frankly and I am paying insurance and registration on it. I just paid for teh 2010 tags.
I think I answered my own 2nd question.. I'll just cut the wires and then buy a motorcycle licence plate frame with the running light on the bottom. Take out my plate and put in that holder and install a 'quick disconnect' to the frame. I might have to see if I can redo the 2nd wire to connect to the 'brake' so the frame actually lights up when you brake..
anybody wired one of these before?
not sure how you would keep a plate without it beign assigned or NOT assigned to a vehicle
When my first R6 was stolen, I had to visit my local RMV and report stolen plates.
*hint hint*

That would suck for the new owner.
Naw... just the PLATES were stolen... not the bike.
Use this form.

You can reassign to another vehicle or retain for future use. I used this to retain my custom plate when I sold my DR-Z, then reassigned it later when I bought my Wrecks. You keep the plate, and the new owner gets a new plate.
Here in PA you always keep the plate. I have every plate from every vehicle ive ever owned. Unless I transfered it to my own vehicle. All buyers get their own new plate or transfer theirs when they buy your vehicle here.
Ja, but he's in CA.
Thanks RG.
