Title: Jardine vs. Vance and Hines full exhaust systems
Post by: racefan29 on April 29, 2009, 11:02:09 AM
Just looking to get some opinions on the two systems. Performance, sound and quality are my main areas of concern.

I'm also interested in hearing the responses.

Performance wise they should be about the same. Sound will both be louder and deeper than stock, I think the jardine will be deeper than vance because of the bigger can. Jardine will look better than vance the vance has painted pipes that will rust within a year or so the jardine is fully chromed and shines nice may rust overtime  but not that quick. Jardine may be you better choice, the only reason I got my vance was I got it for 100 bucks

+1 the Jardine is all stainless header/tubes and aluminum can.   A very nice exhaust for our bikes.

Which full system is quieter?
I live in a fairly quiet neighbourhood...

I figure the low note of the Jardine may not be as annoying.

What about those insertable db-killers?  Do you sacrifice all of the power gains when those are installed?

Dont know about the inserts I didn't buy one but as long as you don't take off at about 9000rpm the jardine should be quite enough but your neighbours will still know your going for a ride. I can't vouch for the V&H as I don't think anyone in Aust has one I think I was the 1st or 2nd to import the Jardine from the states (I like to think first  8))

The V&H has equal length tubes (theoretically more power :icon_rolleyes:) and is lighter than stock and Jardine. also v&h is cheaper but it will rust
im goin with V&H

do equal length tubes reallymatter? I mean the stock headers are technicly equal length.  I would base my decision more on price, and will it have to be removed when you change your oil.  I have heard on here that some will require removal to access the oil filter
