Title: Anyone have a good template to make brackets for an OEM chin fairing?
Post by: Trwhouse on April 30, 2009, 02:19:24 PM
Hi all,
I finally was able to pick up an OEM Suzuki chin fairing for my 1991 GS500E, but it is missing all of its four brackets to attach it to the frame.
I remember that others have had similar problems, so I wonder -- what did you come up with to replace the missing OEM brackets?
Does anyone have some SUCCESSFUL template or ideas that they would share?
Thanks!

Yours,
Trwhouse

For just the chin fairing, I believe it is one bracket with two parts like a clamp on the right side and then bolts on the left.  I could be wrong, I don't have my manual with me right now.  I picked up one myself and was thinking the same thing.  The cost of OEM brackets is not only prohibitive, but just damn insulting.

Anyway here's an idea I dug up while searching:

If anyone else has any ideas I'll be interested as well.
