Title: Differences between F model Hand Controls and E model Hand Controls?
Post by: utgunslinger13 on May 04, 2009, 11:12:06 AM
As my project is slowly comming together I am down to the last parts before I can start wrapping it up.  One of the last parts I need to pick up is new hand controls.  My question is, I want to use the F model Hand Controls but am not sure if they are a direct bolt on.  Will I need to use their cables or can I just take mine off, and replace them with the F models?

Thanks,

Nick

I'll bet $ the elec plugs are different but useable
i think the newer stuff has push and pull cables....you only need to use the pull cable

So that means the cables I have won't work?  I'll need to get the cables from the donor bike?  Anyone that has done this, can you chime in?

Thanks,

Nick

Ken would be correct in the two throttle cables for the newer bikes. Connectors should be the same I don't see why they would change them but then again suzuki does do some weird crap. Find a seller and get some good pics and compare to urs

Found a seller but I don't want to commit to buying without knowing exactly what is needed.  He also has the cables if necessary however I would like to purchase only what is needed to complete.

I'd use the old cable from your bike

So you think its a direct bolt on?  I hope so, can anyone verify this?  Anyone actually done this?

Thanks for your help so far werase643, I just hope someone can second it!

Hey UT would it help if I took some close ups of my "F" for you?

the seller sent me pics, and visually it seems that it should bolt right on and at most I might have to change some wiring.  My main concern is that there is something I'm not seeing and if someone had already done the swap then they could save me the trouble!
