Looking for some program recommendations. Keep in mind I was laid off, am relocating back to Ohio, and really don't have extra cash right now so suggestions of pay for the subscription or buy a faster lens are not needed. Thanks! :thumb:
#1: Free Virus Software:
About a month before I was laid off my Norton Virus subsciption expired and now that I'm not working I can't justify $49.99 for virus protection. My computer has really started acting up in the last 2-3 weeks with it freezing, and not allowing me to open windows unless I close others or it has even forced me to hard restart to get it to unfreeze. When it does this I can still use the windows I have open, just no right clicking, no CTRL+ALT+DEL, nothing that would require an addition window to be opened. Any suggestions on FREE software to use?
#2: Free Photo Editing Software:
For Christmas we upgraded to a new Nikon D60 SLR Camera and unfortunately my free Paint Shop Pro trial has ended. I'm basically looking for something free that I can crop, do some basic image inhance, and smooth out higher ISO shots since we use it a lot of sports photography and if the lights not right (indoor basketball games) we have to crank the ISO up to get the action shots not to freeze. Any suggestions on FREE software to use?
Thanks,
Nick
AVG Anti-Virus:
http://free.avg.com/ (http://free.avg.com/)
I've been using it for years without ANY infection, ever.
Picasa from Google is great for easy basic editing:

The Gimp for photo editing.

And +1 for AVG antivirus.

+1 billion for gimp. avg is just one of the downfalls of running windows: you use windows, you NEED AVG.
I would recommend picasa, but since they won't offer a client for ppc users, i'm ticked. :)
I use Photoshop CS3 (soon to be 4) Master Collection... and I'd pay it forward, but you require a removeable hard drive seeing as its one file and 9Gb in size
+3 on AVG! Good stuff. And SpyWare Doc is good for spyware as well!
