Front master cylinder of my 97 :D

and it's bore

BTW it was a little struggle to remove as the circlip pliers couldn't fit in right , pushed the cylinder down with a thumb
and went at it at an angle with the pliers and great success !
Needles to say I'll order new one and clean the crud out of the bore
Wow, that's pretty ugly. You should have seen what the front caliper off my '94 looked like when it started leaking. It took me like 4 hours to scrape all the crud out of it, it was really gross.
Yeah my caliper is due to some scrubbing as well, all ready for some Goodridge S/S line and SonicSprings at last :icon_mrgreen:
....and a straight axle , can't wait to have my corner carver back :woohoo:

I know the feeling. While I was waiting the week it took my dealer to get the parts for my caliper, I was stuck riding my friend's KLR 250 to work. Not quite as much fun as the GS on the freeway...
Good thing I have this backup ,not as fast but sometimes more fun :

Around here people look at me weirder for riding my bicycle on the road than for riding my motorcycle on the sidewalk. I tried riding my bike to work for a while, people kept nearly killing me. One lady pulled beside me, then pulled over to park and forced me into the curb. Bicycling is terrible in LA, which is a real shame.
Got the new one installed into assembly and already can feel huge improvement just by pumping the brake lever :D

Ha! Despite the really really low cop density in LA, California is really not cool with you having any weapons of any kind. It is basically impossible to get a concealed handgun permit and all kinds of other stuff is banned. I think my motorcycle gloves are technically illegal because they provide knuckle protection that could be used to protect my hands in a fight. I'm pretty sure if I hit someone while wearing those gloves, I could get a weapons charge...
