Looks like China got there hands on our beloved GS. Though if this is a clone I do wonder why only have 350cc.

The tail, the frame, it all looks so familiar...
I actually bought a China bike last year to see if I enjoyed riding...it was a Lifan 200III $1200 new shipped to door...think the engine was based of an 80s honda...got 1100 miles out of with no major problems...quality of the bolts and welds were shite but it didn't look like a moped and you could mod it to get up to 100...almost got there once thought i was gonna die :D...BUT I did use it to realize I like riding and got the basics down and when i sold it was offered what I bought it for...although Tank's brand is well known in the china bike groups :> to be notoriously hard to get parts for(there actually are places online to get china parts, just time to get over here)...to put it shorly I just bought a '96 GS500" a month ago to upgrade and it makes the crap bikes seem like crap now.. :thumb:
Frame looks identical. Engine is very different. 86mm bore x 61mm stroke?
Oooooo , it uses advanced technology from Japan! :icon_lol:
I would love that front fairing for my 89, looks alot better than our stock fairing
100 mph on a chinese bike is only about 75 mph, if you think the GS500 speedometer is optimistic, it's nothing compared to 100 mph on a 200cc my Honda Rebel could only manage 80 mph.
1 cyl ... yea it will make a 100, if tossed out of an airplane.
Cool.

Which, on a pseudo-related topic, makes you wonder.....
Every bike mag and car mag in the USA has a scantily clad asian chick on the front. Do the Chineese versions of these magazines have scantily clad American women on them?

No ... they too have scantily clad chineese chicks on the front.
Why ...
Well they are easy to find and they pay them 30c a year.

Actually you only see the asian chicks on import and tuner magazines. You'll still see the classic harley on a beach at sunset with a blonde bikini babe on cruiser magazines. But I can attest that in asia you'll still see asians on every magazine cover. Although the standards of beauty there are much different, for example as much as Americans would disagree Lucy Liu is considered kinda ugly. So on the magazine covers you'll see almost the same looking women almost indistinguishable from all the other models, they are similar to this ad. But strangely enough you won't see those beauties straddling a motorcycle in the US, though it is quite common in motorcycle trade shows over there.

I got 88-90 (?) with some room on the RPMs ...Granted it was downhill on the pig trail in nw ark...but had a clocked in sigma on the bike and another bike in front that verified (his said 102)... sprocket was 42 changed to 34....but honest to ? it got there ...might not have made it for too much longer...but all in all I gotta recommend Lifans for broke beginners that can turn a wrench
