Title: Choke lowers rpm's after rejet.
Post by: respite on May 14, 2009, 11:41:26 AM
I have an 07, stock exhaust, and k&n drop in with restriction ring in place. Got a mild jet kit from the buddha. Im now running 20/60/132.5 with two washers on the needles and three turns out of the mixture screws. Bike seems to run fine. Its smooth through the entire rpm range through all speeds. Problem i have is with the choke.

It only got down to 56 last night. My bike never sits for more than 15 hours or so without use. It now starts with no choke, and will also start with the choke barely on. Nudging it will raise the rpms from 1000 to 1300-1400, but going any farther it will drop the rpm's and shut off the bike. After warm it idles around 1200-1300.

The only thing i can think of is i did not properly adjust the mixture screws as i ran out of time. Screwed them all the way in, then three turns out, and reinstalled the carbs. Could this be destroying my choke?

Any advise?

You may have swapped the mid mains for the mains I sent you.
2 out of 3 people have done it of late.
The jet you pulled should say 130 on it, not 60 .. you wanna swap 130 with 132.5 ... not 60 with 132.5 ... that will be like trying to give water to a mouse with a fire hose.
Cool.

Add me to the list. I swapped the mid mains. Guess thats what i get for not reading up and working in a dark underground parking deck.

Im surprised it drives as well as it does considering the state its in.
