Title: Pig Spotters anybody?
Post by: Toogoofy317 on May 15, 2009, 08:18:49 AM
I saw these in a motorcyle catalouge and they look pretty neat to me. Seems like it would clean up the "F" very well. I know the first one you couldn't see much. But, now they are claiming at least 85% of stock mirror. He is an example from Fleabay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SUZUKI-CHROME-PIG-SPOTTER-2-MIRRORS_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a1171Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a0Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem19b3a78652QQitemZ110388282962QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

What do you guys think?

mine are about 2 inches shorter than the stock ones (on F model) and i find it hard to get a good view. i think it'd be even harder with those. just my $0.02  :dunno_white:

I think in order to use those you would have to ride tucked into the tank more like you are on a sportbike and not the gs.

Not like I'm forking out $100 bucks yet! Nope I would have to either hold one in my hand so I could get an idea or have someone on here have good results with them. I'm waiting for my replacement to come in anyday. The 83 honda mirrors are getting real old and tacky looking each day that goes by!

www.newenough.com has them for the same price but free shipping.  You can also return them for just the cost of return shipping if you decide you don't like them as long as you don't modify them.  They also have illuminated ones that you can get in blue, green or red for a little more.  They also have a picture showing what you see from your perspective sitting on the bike.  Looks like a really convex lens so they just might actually give you a good view of what is around you but the only way to really know is sit on your bike with them.

unless they are a convex lense, I dont think you would be able to see behind you very well.  I added stick on convex mirrors to mine, and its like a whole new mirror.

no, I meant I added convex mirrors to my regular mirrors on a 95 gs, and it helped tremendously

The pig spotters do have convex mirrors, but the problem I see, other than the price, is that the gs wind screen is much more vertical than most bikes, so I don't think they would work very well. And for the money I'll stick to my cheapo bar end mirrors that work perfectly.
