Ok I know this is eternity question...
Just changed stock exhaust to Takkoni slip-on. This exhaust consists of slip-on midpipe and bolt-on can. It has "db-killer" that I intend to keep installed.
There seems to be lots of opinnios about rejetting. Most people here say its essential, not just to optimize performance, but prevent engine from damaging itself due running too lean (and hot). Some people have told me I dont necessarily need rejetting, if bike seems to be working ok.
Now I am not so intrested of performance - I like my bike already as it is. Exhaust change was more due appearance and sounds.
Also I have read lots of information about how engine running too lean acts. Problem is, I havent noticed any problems with bike after exhaust change - no flat spots or anything. It runs just like before, nothing special.
So do I really need to get it rejetted (not gonna touch carburators myself) just to get myself comfort not to be breaking the engine, or can I trust if there is no "symptoms" that its not running lean?
Any advice hot to check if its too lean would be apreciated also...
You can pull the spark plugs and compare them to the pictures on the wiki under rejetting to see how your bike is running.

Ok, how fast sparks indicate this? Exhaust was changed yesterday, so maybe I need to give some ride to it first? :)
you should be able to take it for a quick 5 minute ride around the neighborhood and be able to tell from the spark plugs. If you have ridden yet with the new pipe on then look at the plugs first and afterwards compare to see if their is a difference. The whole spark plug might not change in that quick of a time but you will be able to see some change.
