Title: Carrying a hockey stick?
Post by: nofearblackstar on May 18, 2009, 01:21:38 PM
Any ideas of how i could carry a hockey stick on my bike. We play hockey once or twice a week usualy in town. So it would only be on the street not the freeway.
I was thinking maybe a tube that it could slid into?My stick is 5feet long
I get my skates and other gear into my tail bag just need a way to carry my stick

I am awar i will get a few looks rideing around with a 5 foot hocky on my bike  :thumb: But my car is down so who cares. I think i read somthing about someone puting a fishing pol on there bike? What did that guy do

Kinda funny cuz i am not used to a space issue seeing as i drive a 69 cadillac and my trunk is over 6 feet long. Now i fight to cram stuff on my bike

the guy who wanted to carry fishing rod on a bike was me.
as a temporary solution to my problem I use telescopic fishing rod, just for now,
but I guess that there are no telescopic hockey sticks  :dunno_white:
so you may want to use the idea, which I was given, and use PVC pipe, and then slid the hockey stick inside.

maybe you could attach it to a backpack or rig a strap to put it over your shoulder and across your back like a sword.

Yeah, I was thinking along the lines of dohabee's idea.  Do you have a guitar bag or something like that?  There's a kid that lives close to me who's always riding around with his guitar on his back.  But then again, he's not the most normal kid around, but he is a pretty sick guitarist.

You need a smaller version of this for your hockey stick:

I've done it with an enduro bike.  Bungee it across the handlebars, just don't ride through any tight spaces!

5 feet is to much to put across my bars. And i think having it on my back would be dangerios if i came off. I thing ill try to rig up a pvc type thing so it hangs on the back

Can't you just take up billiards? :dunno_white:

...they make those sticks so you can carry them in a tiny little case.  :icon_mrgreen:

strap it on the side of your bike to where your leg goes over the head of the stick and then just let the rest dangle out the back let me know if your need a picture of what I'm talking about

i regularly strap my 4 ft longboard to my luggage rack and let like 2 ft of it just hang off the back

Just sling it under your leg gun scabbard style, like John Wayne stylee of the OOOOOooooollld  West young man, why if there are any errant pucks laying about on your commute you could quickly unsling your stick and give 'em a good whacking......but mind your throttle ayyyy
