I want some gently used gear for my fiancee to ride in she is probably a small or extra small jacket and helmet.
She would probably like something pink but any color is ok really.
Trying to avoid shelling out a few hundred bucks since she only rides with me about once a month if that.
craigslist/swapmeets/bike shops not workin out for ya? :dunno_white:
figured I would try here first, but that is plan B
Don't buy her used stuff, it never fits right and who knows what the jokers did to it. The Fieldsheer Breeze jacket is on sale from Chaparral for $60. I crash tested this jacket and it held up great. It was nice and cool even in 100 degree weather. It even comes in pink. There's a rain liner available for it for $13 See the deal here from Chaparral (http://www.chaparral-racing.com/Chaparral/product_family.asp?family_id=17218&gift=False&0=dept.asp%2Cdept_id%3D5567%26menu_id%3D%26Tree%3D%2CFieldsheer&1=dept.asp%2Cdept_id%3D5569%26menu_id%3D%26Tree%3D0%2CFieldsheer%20Jackets&2=dept.asp%2Cdept_id%3D5572%26menu_id%3D%26Tree%3D1%2CFieldsheer%20Womens%20Jackets&mscssid=F4584BBECE094874A28BD047CFE3B75C)
Then get her a closeout Scorpion Helmet.

Used stuff will fit at least as well as buying something online before trying it on, especially on closeout where you can't return it. If you buy used local (craigslist) at least you get to try it on/see the condition. My girlfriend wears a size 2 and we went to three motorcycle shops, only to find a couple of jackets that would fit her only with the liner in, they were all fielsheers.
It can be hard to find good fitting equipment for girls with little frames if you are also trying to get a good deal.
I am a girl with a little frame and I can tell you from experience being the president of an all female riding club that often times women (and their boyfriends) settle for gear that doesn't fit right, especially when they are looking for a deal. People also like to fiddle with the armor and stuff ends up missing or placed incorrectly. You can return the jacket to Chaparral. Don't just buy something because it almost fits...my point was there are deals to be had on good quality new gear. :technical: No need to jump down my throat...so glad I came back to the forum. I wear the Scorpion Nip Tuck jacket and it fits perfectly, but more on the expensive side. I also have Alpinestar all leather perf'ed gloves, several scorpion helmets, and riding boots. I've gone through the "nothing fits me" bs..
Props to you buddy for at least getting your girlfriend gear even if its only for a short time period. A lot of guys would let their girls go gearless...

Thanks for the fieldsheer jacket deal I will get that, How much for one of your several scorpion helmets?
They have the pink EXO-400s at New Enough for $60 + shipping:

Great helmet for the price!
+1 on the kudos for getting your girl geared up, even if she only rides with you once in awhile. A gentleman never lets his passenger ride with less gear than him. :nono:
wow i just looked at that helmet somewhere else for 150, so $60 seems like quite a deal.
now I just have to figure out how to measure her head while she is sleeping so I don't ruin the surprise.
I have a pinhead, so all of mine are XS...what size is she going to need?
Hmm...maybe surprise her with the body gear only. Find a shop that carries Scorpion and have her try it on. Nothing sucks more than an ill fitting helmet. Unless you want to keep her rides with you to only once a month. ;)
It's a stellar deal; a friend just picked one up a couple months ago and was amazed by the price. I mean, the gray liner itself is worth $30.
thanks for the advise ladies.
I got these for under 150 shipped:

Agreed, now I have to go find a girl to put in this theoretical gear..
When I get a guy does that mean I have to dress him to ride B I T C H on my bike? I doubt it will happen but hey worth asking right!

Why yes.......................................yes you do :tongue2:
If you bought the "light blue" breeze jacket, be warned its more of a teal color...

This was after being crash tested :icon_lol: I honestly don't think I have another picture of me wearing it. The summer I bought it was rather cold and rainy then I wrecked and ended my season early. Then a certain part of me outgrew it..
Wow, that looks nothing like the blue in the picture. hopefully she doesn't mind not matching.
I didn't like it at first, but it grew on me.

One of the guys at work rides on the back of his girlfriend's motorcycle pretty often. He's 6'7" and she's like 5'4", they make quite the pair. He also rides, but she's the better rider with the bigger bike... And yes, if you get a guy and want him to ride on the back, you're going to have to end up with a set of guy sized loaner gear. It's only fair...
