Title: K&N ?
Post by: REAP on May 19, 2009, 02:08:07 AM
Ok, i just got my K&N Lunchbox and tried it out to see if it fits. Everything looks good but i cant be stuffed putting the stock back on. I am yet to get jets and exhaust but would it be ok to run the lunchbox for a week without jets and exhaust? Im too bloody lazy  :D

Dont worry guys, I took it for a ride and quickly came home and apologized to my GS for killing its sound

Stock air filter is back on, will have to wait for other parts  ;) .

the lunchbox is quite a bit louder, if thats what your refering to, 3 choices, A: get used to it    B: go back to the stock airbox    C:  get an aftermarket exhaust so you wont hear the filter

No, i mean it sounded really sick. Like something had died in the engine. If thats what you people call a better sounding bike, then i feel sorry for your GS  :flipoff:

I joke but it did not sound right, I'll wait for the jets and exhaust to get here then report back on the sound.

well it would run really lean with the K&N without bigger jets and a better flowing exhaust.  So i think you did the right thing by waiting for all the parts, you wouldn't want to bake your engine.
