I've been dealing with SEVERE back and body pain for almost 6Mos now. lost some feeling in right leg. (this oh my goodness don't improve, can honestly say my riding days are over. that aside, been to the commy clinic 7 times, er ( emergency room)3 now, and made yet another appointment to the commy clinic. and no frankie or others, uni healthcare AINT the solution, I can pay for docs. the health industry IS the problem here. ( since I'm w/o.health coverage, and I don't look alpha male type, I'm treated as a f%$king junkie lookin for his fix. I can give a oh my goodness less about narcs tbh. I'm in so much pain today, I've resorted to picking up the bottle again. I'VE GOT TO f%$kING DRINK TO GET RELIEF;. THEREIN LIES THE PROBLEM. I also have to work. and I can't work drunk. I've got a high tolerace to pain, but yesterday, and today. was so bad brought tears to my eyes. can't afford to take the day off. the commy clinic told me again "we won't prescribe narcs" I'm like well no s**t nurse obvious and the er won't even look at me like I'm totally fycked right now. the way I see it is this, I can baker act myself, could take my car go to north of 50 and hit a tree/tele pole ( to cause injury enough for them to look at me) :icon_sad: :nono: :nono: :nono: :mad: :mad: :2guns: :2guns: :2guns:, or ( well a very dear friend talked me out of the third option. that is no longer on thee table , that I'm truly grateful for :whisper: :kiss3: :kiss3:. I jus want to find a doc to look at me THOROUGHLY and find the underlying cause of this crap. but they ALL seem to be on the anti narc bandwagon. my third option is to trigger a DKA with arf = diabetic keto acidosis with acute renal failure. they would look at me then, BUT this happened last april (i had a thread about this) I didn't cause that one tho. but odds are if that were to happen again, I'd not recover from it. so that option is NOT on the table. only way for me to be able to sleep is 4-5 shots of 80 proof. will allow me to sleep but hell, working while doing that is a no go. so that is a night time only thing wtfh am I sposed to do. this oh my goodness sucks :sad: [/soon to be semi drunk rant] :icon_confused: :dunno_white: :cry:

I'm sorry you are going through this. It sounds like you have pinched your sciatic nerve from the new symptom of loss of feeling. I wish you wouldn't have settled that accident. But, isn't there a way you could go to an attorney and have them reopen the case because you could not have forsaw this going on. Did you tell them today about the loss of function in the leg. That is not a good sign. This is where a primary shines because they can coordinate all of this.

I am sorry to hear of your pain situation.
This neck of the woods if you go to hospital with pain they treat you like a junky as well but run you through a series of waiting game tests to see if you are strung out or realy do need the pain meds. I like you had genuine pain yet the docs just gave me bloody panadol........
I understand that it is illegal and I am fully prepared for a flamming from members for suggesting this to you but when pain meds did not work for me (more so I could not take any more incase of OD) I turned to pot to numb the pain so I could sleep.........Yes it is illegal and yes you take a chance but damn does it numb the back pain to allow you to sleep.
It is only a suggestion but if all else fails for you you may like to give it a try. I know how bad you feel attempting to sleep through pain.

You def. have a nerve. Before my surgery My left leg had lost feeling. I hope you can get some help cause with mine it got to the point when you go to stand up the nerve would pinch and make me pee. I know that sounds funny but trust me it SUCKS.
you could try getting arrested. folks in prison in some cases are better off than us on the streets. :cookoo: all kidding asside, i really hope you can get things worked out. i'll keep ya in my prayers yama. :cheers:

There was a diabetic guy that couldn't afford to get health care so he "robbed a bank" I.E said I'm going to rob the bank never showed a weapon or took money. Stood outside so he would get arrested to get treated. When the judge found out he refused to send him to jail just Fined him an insane amount of money!
There was a couple of times I thought about doing that esp when I lost my job and my disability was still in apeal. If it wasn't for my church and the people in it I wouldn't be here today because I could not afford my heart meds.

I gave up the "herb" cause I would get sore. lol gave that up 5+ years ago. ironically I came to work l8 again at 420 of all times. thought about the bank thing but people I care about "on the outside" one I care about deeply so that's off the table as well. the hosp solvent (cheap vodka) made me sleep well. sucks but I may just become a drinker to cover it until it can be fixed :angel: :cry: :embarrassed:
Just be carefull using the bottle to dull pain, not only are you setting yourself up for a future liver problem, but you are risking a very serious addiction. Using alcohol to kill pain is a slippery slope and how many alcoholics start out.
There has to be some kind of solution here. You can't talk with the ER doc and take a drug test to prove your not a junkie since you don't have meds in your system? What about taking all your medical records to your main doctor and explain that NO ONE will help? I find it hard to believe (I have a problem thinking there is no one out there willing or able to help) that you can't get the medical help you need and deserve!

Like I said I went to the ER Sunday due to back back probs and I have the scars to prove I have had back surgery and the doc would not help me. Just past me off as trying to score meds too.

Yama, I'm so sorry you are in pain. That is truly one of the most awful things to have happen.
Could you go to a regular MD (and NOT the emergency room)? I would think that your chances of quality treatment would go up.
Here in our local hospital, not only is the ER very costly, but they use a rent-a-doc service. You literally get some doctor either fresh out of med school and unable to get a job, or someone who is unemployable for various reasons elsewhere. My wife could have died if we hadn't gone elsewhere after getting lousy treatment in our ER.
I have to agree with trumpetguy on this one. If you're willing to make an apointment with a PCP and request to be seen by a neurologist or whomever they say you should see may help them think you're not an addict wanting pills. ED's are hit or miss for care.
In the mean time I can't really recommend the heavy bottle when you mention DKA and ARF happening that recently. Last thing I want is for you to end up in that situation again. (we both know what EtOH does to blood sugars). Only thing OTC you could do would be ibuprofen and tylenol. You can rotate them out. 800mg of Ibuprofen 4 times a day and 1000mg of tylenol 4 times a day. Both are MAX doses and not be gone over and don't combine it with anything else like alleve or aspirin. Titrate up on the ibuprofen too. Start at 400mg, then 600 then 800 with each new dose until you get to a tolerable level (lowest effective dose). And if you go the OTC route I mentioned take the ibuprofen with food and maybe consider doing some pepcid 20mg twice daily unless you're on that or a PPI or another H2RA already to help protect your stomach. Also, don't pick up the bottle with the tylenol. It can ruin a liver quickly and don't do the above for more than a few days and try to avoid those max doses if possible. Sorry if I wrote a book of medical advice there. I hope some of it may be useful.

You guys aren't listening! He doesn't have insurance. Which means a doctor will not touch you! I remember at the beginning of 2006 before I got my disability I lost my job (restructuring and new owners) and had to go 90 days without insurance. Got on with Disney fairly quickly. My cardiologist of FIVE YEARS dropped me as a patient. I got a certfied letter stating that our Dr. patient relationship was compromised althought they didn't come right out and say it. I went to several other cardiologist :nono: if you ain't got insurance we ain't taking you on! It was also time to have my defibrillator checked one that had been recalled but no doctor would see me. I ended up in end stage heart failure within a month and spent two weeks in ICU total amount for that visit drum roll please! $100,000 that effectively ruined my life at 25! I'm trying to pay it off but know I never will. The cardiologist finally agreed to take me on but only after I got my insurance at that time two months.
My church saved my life. One of the members there was a doctor and he volunteered at a local clinic. Pastor talked to him and he wrote me the scripts for my cardiac meds and found a place that would fill them for free. So, in essence God saved my life by works of his followers.
Yama I feel for ya! Just remember God will take care of your needs somehow someway. I'm proof of that just have faith in Him and he will do it. But, you gotta work on it to I.E taking some time and resting that back so it will heal!

Heya tg long time no see. am working on gettign to a PCP soon, middle of june. first time i can get into one, my ex can get me in saying i live there. and have a tn id. cause if dual locations etc. so thats covered. i gave up after 3 shots cause was about ready to pass out, ( sleep wise so i did) i have several friends who know of my situation are are HOOKED on pain meds, and 1 offered me some of theirs, and offered teh location of docs who are as easy on scribing them as a broadway hooker. i i took the info, and wrote on my list on my pc to NOT see them, im dealing wiht docs now who dont give a damn ( seemingly) last thing i need is one to say damn you hurting ? heres x amount of x per month. take care, and call me. i want to get to bottom of problem, of the meds are necessary, i want someone who is a bit of a NAZI on those to guid e me through it , and yes i work wiht a few alkies. one of which tonight helped to pull half of an engine out of his durango foir repairs, he ended up drunk so i did most of it. i said, in payment, im takin whats left of your 12 pack hes like :cry: :icon_confused: :o :nono: , i was liek shaZam! i cant stand beer. ( well most beer here anyways. im a bit of a snob on that stuff. so i took 2 of them.) got the repairs done, am going back after work tomorrow to finish the install got head gaskets doen today as well as valve cover gaskets on teh 5.9 intake gskt tomorrow tehyn i rest for a day. cause fri i have to go pick up an office copier for a project i have in mind. ( was free on freecycle so hey :thumb: THEN i rest lol went from back, hip ( left) left shoulder pain and a tad numb in right leg to all the afore mentioned AND right shoulder when i get into that PCP next month, im gonna look into the hell shot as mary put it, or the TPI as well, so i can get my range of motion back. also gonna see if doc can pinpoint the timeframe of this. to see if it can be tied into the wreck in december, if it can, perhaps the help can be more substantial as in med people

What's the source of your pain? I had a lower back injury in my 20s and about once a year I have an episode where it spasms for a week or so -- sucks mightily.
Do you do any exercises or stretches? My dad gave me a book - 7 Steps To A Pain-Free Life by Robin McKenzie which has helped a lot. Nothing makes it go away, except time in my case. Ice followed by heat helps my spasms.
Also, I do some exercises when I am NOT in pain that seem to help prevent the episodes. When I get lazy and quit the exercises I have problems... It also seems to help when I keep my weight down (like THAT's easy).
Wish I could give you the magic dust which would stop the pain. I'd be a billionaire if I could.
and now i have a non healing sore it seems on my left leg ive been trying to get fixed for the past month. i fear this one.
