I just bought a used 05' GS500 (duh) and I distance between the brake lever and the grip is a little too wide for me. Is there any way to adjust it? I ordered a manual online and Im hoping there will be something in there that addresses this, but in the meantime....
With our model the '04 and up they aren't really adjustable AFAIK. However, '01 back to '89 I believe have adjustable brake levers and if I'm not mistaken you can switch one out for one of their's.

The adjustment varies by year. My '89 is not adjustable, the girlfriend's '95 has 4 positions, and my '01 has 6 positions.

if the ones on yours arent adjustable, these are, and they're less than $30 including shipping
Which ones?

Sweet! Thanks... are these pretty easy to install?
yeah, I can change both of mine out in less then 5 minutes, including greasing them up. dont forget to grease them, and remove the clutch safety switch when you change the clutch lever. 2 phillips screws on the bottom of the clutch perch
Mine isn't adjustable but it's only 4 inches from the grip. Even the smallest hands can operate it. I wonder why they changed it.
I guess i have small hands :dunno_white:
I can reach the brake, but with gloves on , its a reach and I find myself inadvertently rolling the throttle. To combat this, I have focus on not doing that, and thus taking away my attention from everything else. Its doable, I just want it to be more comfortable.
Levers are ordered and on the way, thanks for the tip Jeremy!
no problem, so how are they working out for you?
