Title: jet advice
Post by: platinum_black on May 28, 2009, 04:08:50 PM
hey guys I am looking at sorting my jets as it turns out someone that has owned this before me has put i think it was 117 main jets in for some reason not sure if it was restricted or not, but everything is running standard apart from a stainless steel predator exhaust, what size jet do you advise as i am constantly running lean. also as i mentioned in other posts i have been having starting trouble could this be connected?

117 is not even a valid available jet size.
What country are you and what needle you have ?
What year is the bike ?
Cool.

Sorry I was wrong it's a 114, I'm in the uk and it's a 91 bike, someone suggested a 122.5 a while ago before I knew wot exhaust it was, that sound about right?

is it possible that you have DynoJet jets?? they use even sizes in their jets (my DJ kit came with 122, 124, 128, and 130)
and the sizes are not comparable to Mikinu jets (form my experience DJ jet in size 130 would be something close to mikuni 147.5)

cheers

114 is smaller than stock!  Get 'em outta there before you burn out your exhaust valves!  Stock main jets are 122.5!  With a pipe and filters go a little bigger but don't overdo it.
