"Was involved in more of a low speed fall over. Muffler has dents , headlight out of alignment and scratches on motor side cover. Needs rear tire , battery , fork seals and key is broken off in the gas tank lock."

I've always wanted to do a project bike.

A running bike here is worth $1k alone.  I stick to my previous statement that there's not a GS out there that hasn't been dropped once.

it's definitely worth $600 for just the parts alone if you ask me.  even more so if it runs.

I never dropped mine but it's been on its side twice because of irresponsible people knocking it over with their cars in parking lots.

I'd offer him $500 and if he takes it, get it home check it out and if its not worth fixing you can probably get $100 to $150 for a clean title and frame easy. Then part out the rest get your money back + some.

I decided to wait and see if anyone takes it. If it sits for a while, I may get it.

ya but why would the key be in the tank if it was running, two keys or not?

Maybe I missed it, but I only saw "key broken off in lock."  Where did we get that it was broken while it was running? It said involved in low speed crash, has muffler, headlight, etc...needs fork seals, something, something, and key broken off in gas tank.  I'd assume the fork seals didn't blow during a low speed tip also....

well he said that it was involved a slow running accident, and if he had his key broken off in the lock, how would he fill up, unless it broke off during the crash.........if not, i guess im just assuming :dunno_black:

Uh... buy it.  Show up with $600 in 20's, tell him to get the title, offer $400, show him the cash, don't tell him how much it is, and tell him you're both going to walk away happy.

if it was closer to my home I'd take it, throw it in the garage and then slowly, piece by piece, repair it and make it rideable.

$600?  Buy it.

If you change your mind, put it back on craigslist for $800...
