Title: For Sale: Lower fairing for an older GS500
Post by: Straymonolith on May 29, 2009, 03:34:03 PM
This is the lower cowling for an older GS. It's pretty scratched up, needs to be repainted and a corner has been reconstructed.
If you want to put in a little work, this could be a great fairing for an older naked GS.
I'm in Houston and hope to sell it locally and quickly. But if someone wants to pay for shipping, I suppose I can arrange it.
Here's the post and photos:

For those interested in this scoop and to help Straymonolith sell this scoop here is some info....

I recently replaced/fabricated one of my clamps for my belly pan. I went to home depot and got some 2x4 concrete hangers ($1.17) and cut the ends off. They are the exact width and thickness of the originals and are galvenized to boot.

Also I wanted to spruce my scoop up a bit it had some cracks in it. I went to autozone and bought a fiberglass patch kit ($14) and reinforced it from the inside..a rather simple procedure and then used body glazing and sanded it down to perfection.

It's a 2 hour job - drying time for the compounds.
