Title: carb rebuild = revs slow to come back down
Post by: mattress on May 30, 2009, 10:09:04 AM
i don't know what the tech term is, but I bought a couple of carb rebuild kits from partsnmore.com

after installing the kit, and putting the bike all back together, i started her up

when I rev the throttle, the revs are really slow to come back down to idle.

you guys have any ideas what this could be?
no i didn't lose the "tiny o-ring" in the cap for the vaccuum test ports (this time atleast ;)  that was the whole reason for me to buy the rebuild kits, plus i lost a float needle some how)

thanks for the advice!

Did you route the throttle cable correctly?  Maybe is snagged on something and not closing the butterflies properly?  Nothing hanging up in the carbs?

I replaced the grip could that have anything to do with it? Do I need to lube the cables? Could a vacuum leak cause it?

not to sure about the vacum leak, but I would make sure that none of the cables are binding.

What's the bike behavior?
Does it pull fine? or it sputters and lacks of power completely?
