There's something rustling around on my balcony right now and it sounds rather large :icon_confused:
What's wierd is that my dog is calm :dunno_white:
I'm not curious/concerned enough yet to go investigating, but my lil phillipino friend is within arms reach.
if the dog is calm, i wouldn't worry myself much. unless the dog is deaf, blind and retarded. :dunno_white:
slight thread jack: found out what's been tearing open my trash bags, when i place them out for collection....caught em red handed. fu(king black birds/crows/whatever you wanna call em. (yes i know blackbirds and crows are different but i'm not sure yet which they are) i know they are birds, they are black and they don't just come one at a time, at least a dozen or more. cat goes crazy in the window. unfortunately, i still live in city limits so i'm not sure yet how to handle this problem. :dunno_white:
ground floor or?
i've just got a single story home. the bastards come right onto the porch! :2guns: :2guns:
I'm on the second story. Whatever it was left, probably just a coon.
If you want to stop the birds just start mixing rat poison in with your trash. :thumb:
hmm...thanks spc, i'll try that. i imagine they'll only dig into it once eh? well, given the large number of birds around, (less than 100 yards from us is a massive field, used mainly for corn) i imagine it will take awhile to get them to stop completely.
Have fun picking up all the dead birds in the yard :thumb:
Mary
rat shot in a 22 terry, 1 shot then go in and hide hte wep before LEO gets there
Think rat shot would be ok through a silencer? I've seen p22's used with silencers goin under 600 and those fuchers are QUIET!
Get yourself a single shoit crickett bolt action for about $100 and some CB caps, CB caps are 22lr with a 20gr bullet and no powder charge just the primer for propellent it's subsonic and about as loud as a highpower air rifle with about twice the impact energy. At 20ft it'll kill most small critters not wake the neighbors and you don't have to wait 120 days or more for a form 4 transfer or pay a $200 tax as well as having to hassle with a chief LEO sign off or forming a trust.
I'm gonna do a supressor but I already have a trust for a short barrel rifle I am getting ready to do. Gotta mail off my form 1 and my check next week. 11.5" .223 upper then gonna put a can on that down the road, might get a sbr .22lr upper for it too and do a .22 can as well then I can multimount the .22 can on a pistol or other rifle.
Pellet gun will be enough to kill the crows and not alert the neigbors, or better yet a .22 with .22CB rounds but I would be more careful where I aimed it than the pellet gun as the .22 round has a little more mass and could actualy cause some damage if not careful where as the pellet rifle won't do much damage to to most stuff. I have done quite a bit of "urban squirrel hunting" since they made a nest in the roof of my shop. :2guns:
I got my 1911 zero'd in very tight with the new rear sight. Shot a sig mosquito with a silencer, I've farted louder than that. Just gotta ditch my Tupperware and I'm gonna buy one, probably wait a while for a silencer though.
I don't know that this would be accurate enough, but you can make your own silencer with a two liter soda bottle stuffed with cotton balls....it's only good for a few shots though.
My friend made one for his M1 Carbine....super quiet.

This you should never admit to. It's a violation of title II of the national firarms act. I cringe everytime I see some idiot post a youtube vid of a popcan silencer on a .22.
I'll sell ya a glock 26, if you can get your aim right that'll put an end to those pesky birds :thumb:
so will alka seltzer
or a cat
true but who wants a cat :technical:
there are several cats in the neighborhood but they all seem scared of these birds. after all, these aren't robins we're talking about. :2guns:
