Title: Clubman Bars
Post by: eleventeen on June 01, 2009, 09:59:33 PM
I made the mistake of buying Clubmans and they don't fit over clamp.  After researching the site I realize that many out there have experienced the same mistake.  I don't want to cut or modify or weld.  I don't want risers either.  I see photos posted of clubmans that fit that don't look modified or have the need for risers.  And yes, this site: http://cgi.stanford.edu/~sanjayd/gs500/Upgrades/Handlebars shows clubmans, that don't look like risers are used.  Which Clubmans fit and where do I get them?  Any help would be appreciated.

On the bottom were bars I made many years ago. They are clubman's without the drop.
I have some plans of making some ... some time. Sorry, too much crap going on ... and bender is busted ...
Cool.

Thanks for getting back to me.  So, from your knowledge any clubmans need to be modified?

I haven't seen one that didn't need to be ... OTOH, you can toss in a set of caps under the bar and it will lift it 1 inch as well as not hit, and clubman's have a 5 inch drop, so its fine to do that.

There are some out there that I've seen w/ 10" centers. Mine had 6.5" centers, so I cut and welded them. Check e-bay or something I know there out there, you might just have to call the people to confirm.

you could consider jota bars which are multi adjustable, i've had these on an er6 before, no complaints at all http://www.bustersclassic.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=RAAJB

Lopee: Oh, OK I thought mine was the 10 inch and still didn't fit ... was mine wider than yours before you cut yours ?

I actually shortened mine a hair, but I was doing it for 1 clown who un ceremoinously back out ...

These suggestions are excellent!  Thank you.  I need to replace the clubmans anyway now since I found my bike knocked over this morning...NYC street hassle!
