Title: Bandit 600 shock same as Kat 600??
Post by: chrishiggs on June 05, 2009, 01:39:22 AM
Hi folks,

Done some post searching with no luck...

Does anyone know if the Bandit 600 shock is the same as the Katana 600 shock? I'm not sure if you get the Bandit 600 in the US...Here in the UK the Katana 600 is called the gsx 600. It has a lot of the same parts as a Bandit 600 but not sure about the shock. I have a Bandit 600 plus a spare shock which I thought I could fit to the gs. Trouble is I can only find info on the forum regarding Bandit 400 and Katana 600 shocks. Anyone know if the shocks are the same on the Katana and Bandit 600s? Thanks in advance! :thumb:

Thanks. I think the UK Bandit 6 shock might be diferent to the one in the US. Mine's from a 2000 Bandit and here in the UK from 99-on was adjustable for both preload and rebound damping. Rekon I might give it a go as it's gotta be better than standard. Looking for a bit more of everything- spring rate, rebound and compression damping. I figure if mines the same dimensions as listed on Pablos site (3mm shorter) any slight lowering will be made up for by the stiffer spring etc. Grounding out a bodged up link pipe on right-handers. Got standard UK forks (Preload adjusters on max) so needing stiifer fork springs (in the pipeline) and a no-budget rear shock upgrade so rekon it's worth a go. Thanks for the info!
