Title: Buells heads/turns, '89 Clip-ons, etc ?'s
Post by: O.C.D. on June 05, 2009, 09:15:01 AM
Hey guys,

I am already planning to change my bike, imagine that, lol.

Lots of time and research has taken place but I am at a point where uncertainty is preventing me from ordering.  What I am looking to do is a Buell Lightning headlight swap.  Buell turn signals, '89 cliip ons with CRG folding mirrors.  So, I am in need of some e-support.

I called my local Harley and the codes for older headlights are now changed to Y0721.68C and are listed as $125.00.  This is apparently the entire setup with harness and bulbs, etc.  I understand that I also need the mount for the lights and that came up as M0645.1ADA for $20.  The grille is M0023.1AJAYT and comes up at $49.00.  Basically all the parts are going up every year.

So, what else do I need for this part of the swap?

I am also wanting to do the Buell turn signals as well.  There are 4 separate numbers for the 4 signals.  I didn't have a part number for those but she listed them at $22 a piece.  I also need lock washers and nuts, etc.  that hardware is like $4 per signal?!  She was saying that the standoffs are separate from the signals?A  Is this true?

Does anyone have the exact part numbers for these so i know exactly what I need?

Now, I am in the process of acquiring some '89 clip-ons.  What I need to know is with these bars can I use CRG bar end mirrors?  My stock bars have ends on them right now that look like this.

I am not sure what they are, but the bar ends are apparently screwed into the ends I have now.  Do the '89's have this same thing as in screw ends or threads in them?  Will I be able to add '89's with CRG folding mirrors with the existing ends I have in the picture above?  Or will I need the adapter ($18 each) for the mirrors to be attached?

I am sorry for all the questions, but I want to make sure I don't mess this up.  So far I am looking at well over $400 for this all and I want to do it right one time.

Thanks for the help.
Jon

Been looking over the bay for a while for this stuff.  Not much to be found.

At least I found some clip-ons  :whisper:

I got my buell turn signals off ebay.  Think they were 12 a pair.

Well, basically anything on ebay to me is junk unless it is OEM.  SO yes, I am anal about what I buy.  Still though I have been looking.

Can I get some answers though to what I asked about as far as clip-ons and the headlight assembly issues.  I know there are many people on here who have done it so I know there are people to help.
