Hi, all the rejet went well and the jardine is on, now I just need the lunchbox to arrive, what do I do with the extara hose that was on the bottom of the air box? I know the one that comes form the top of the T on the carb must be some can of vent or vac. and the other from the crankcase needs some kind of filter, but can I just disconnect the one that went to the air box, or should I just let that float too? :dunno_white: :dunno_white: :dunno_white: :dunno_white: :dunno_white: :dunno_white:
That tube is the overflow tube to your bowls. If you unplug that tube and turn your petcock to prime. It will start to flow gas out of it. You can either make a catch can for it or just buy some hose rated for fuel and reroute it down to exit withthe other ones below your right foot. Not in front of the tire, you'll have more problems than leaking fuel.
There are only 2 hoses to the airbox. Crankcase breather is on the top. The hose on the bottom of the airbox (your mystery hose) is a drain for the airbox itself and was never connected to anything other than the airbox. It can be thrown away with the airbox.
The carb vent/drain hose (T) shouldn't have been connected to the airbox at all, other than a clip to hold it in position. You shouldn't have had to mess with it too much. It vents/drains to the ground like change said.
At least that's how I remember it.

What is that? I'm sure the hose went to the bottom of the Airbox! now when I put the lunchbox in where should the hose go? I'm not sure what it does? Maybesomone can set me the right way!

Are you in California? That looks like the evaporative system something thingamabob. I was fortunate not to have that installed. I would imagine you can remove the whole setup since it won't function correctly without an airbox anyway. There was a post a while back about removing it.
Since I don't have a California model please take this for what it's worth. I'm sure someone will chime in with better advice.
Nope, I live in Minnesota, I guess it could be a CA setup :dunno_white: If it is should I get rid of it? or just get rid of the hose?
I have no idea why it would be there or what the best way to deal with it would be. Maybe all new bikes get it now. Bike bandit breaks down the vacuum lines for earlier bikes as 49 state and CA models. I don't know if that will help in your case but it might.
Hopefully someone here knows the answer because I sure don't.
yeah its on all the newer bikes, called a PAIR system and its for emissions or something.
Well I guess the best way is just to put a crank case filter on the end of that tube?

Real good info if you want to remove the system, otherwise just block the air intake from the airbox or hose. :o
WoW the Bike responds well with the jardine, lunchbox and rejet. it gets up and goes nice mod for the $$$$ in my option.
Why not just put a little air filter on it and keep it? That way you won't have trouble getting it to pass inspection. I'm not in the land of fruits and nuts so I don't know how stringent your service stations are about stripping emissions equipment off your bike.
