Title: Frog Toggs rain gear.
Post by: lilwoody on June 08, 2009, 06:06:26 PM
I bought a few things that were recomended on here with great satisfaction. I searched it and didn't find any info on these. Does anyone have any first hand experince with these. I'm leaning toward the Road Hoggs but would like pockets. They seem to have very good seams, zipper flaps and get good reviews else where. Wifie and I road down to Islomarada to check them out while we were doing our weekend ride and should have bought them because we got caught in a Florida thunder storm on the way home. We're getting ready for our trip to the mountians, we have 150 to 250 mile trips planed every day and will be needing rain gear to fill out our list.

Where you at in Florida? I'm in O-town. Don't ya just love out daily thunderstorms. One minute your makin bacon on your fuel tank the next minute your taking a bath on your bike! Happened on Friday. Friend and I went out on a short ride. Forgot to look behind us got 3/4 of the way to my house torrential down pour. My riding pants are rain resistant, and I have a rain liner for my jacket. But, forget both frequently. And what do I get for that wet feet and under wear YICK!

I've got a set of the "road toad" frog toggs, those are the frog toggs made specifically for motorcycling and they are really great, they actually breathe unlike the old vinyl rainsuits, so you don't have to choose between getting soaked by the rain or your sweat.  I highly recomend them.

I haven't used them myself, but a co-worker who rides a ZXR1200 says they're great.

I live in Homestead, it's the second to last city on the east coast. We can get some nasty storms brewed up PDQ here in Fl can't we. The rain doesn't bother me, the lighting scares the he77 out of me though.

Ain't that the truth. When I hear the weather man like today say no chance of rain I can almost gaurantee that it will pour on me. If they say you will get wet it will be sunny and beautiful. I hate when I listen take the car and see all of the other motos. DANG DANG DANG I should be riding! Then I turn around go home pick up the bike get just far enough to not be able to go back then downpour! If I could just fit the rain liner underneath my seat it would make my life far easier. I'm thinking my next uber project is to fab up some plastic to fill the holes under the seat that should help!

My son had the small version of these. I think I'm going to get the mediums but not before our trip (the Jeeps trans needs rebuilding AGAIN !!!). They strayed pretty dry, they zip off and the strap between the 2 bags fits under the seat. I've been useing saddle bags from Knight bikes that have served their purpose for the last 2 years and can either be put on or under the back seat. A rear rack helps a whole lot too.

My dad has a set of these that I've used a few times. The 1st time was on my MSF and I would of been drenched from the rain that day if not for those. All day riding around @ 20km/h in April wold have been nasty.

The 2nd time i used them was the other weekend, had to ride from Welland,Ont to Toronto ( about 90-100km), when i left it was sunny but forecast called for rain so i brought them. Made it 40km into my ride and the sky's OPENED. Stopped @ a gas bar and put em on, got home dry as i left.

So  :thumb: :thumb: from me on them. Just gotta order myself a pair now..
