Title: gs should have been named....
Post by: ohgood on June 16, 2009, 05:40:37 AM
AS for always something.

This morning, sputter sputter then death. Water in the gas ? Crap in the carbs (again!), maybe a curse ?
I'm so f%$king sick of carbs. f%$king sick of them. f%$king sick. Sick sick sick.

Think I'll just roll it out front with a huge FOR SALE sign whrn I get home from work. f%$k I hate carbs.

oh, yes, carbs are gummed up with sludge, filter was clogged with crap (wasp nest?) and the spark is poor.

float is stuck...

f%$k, another f%$king weekend of not riding and trying to find the causes.

hey, on the bright side, i'm getting really good at this whole strip-a-carb-in-2-minutes-clean-and-reassemble thing ! :D

now, how does one strip a EFI bike again ? oh ya, you don't ! ever ! :D

well ohgood, i've always heard that the HD in harley davidson stood for "hundred dollars"- you could never come/go from a dealership without parting company with at least one "benjamin"
maybe the GS stands for : grand scheme
                                    good scam
                                   good n sore
                                  gimme some ($)
                                 greatly strained
                                gone south
?????

dude i don't know what you're doing wrong, but i've never had an issue with my carbs. When i bought the bike it had been sitting for 4 years with the same gas in it, and it was all gummed up. I cleaned it out 1 time. and it's run great ever since.

Imma take a pic of the carb on my landie and post it tomorrow.  That thing looks like it has been through 2 wars and across a continent without cleaning and yet it lights right up every time without fuss.

dis-assemble cars and soak em OVERNIGHT well even better for 24 hours in a gallon can of carb cleaner. ive done this with every bike or car carburetor. never had any issues with any of them, biggest pain in the ass was this old school maserati was like 8 carbs or someshit on them. days upon dqays of work, then dialing them in so they sung
