When I bought the bike the right bolt on the tachometer was broken off where it meets the plastic. Is there anything I can do aside from buying a new tachometer?
It's not that big of a deal except the whole gauge jumps around above like 40mph.
You can put a wood anchor with the pointy part cut off in there depending on the size of the break in the plastic.
I would prolly drill it round and center it to the original spot, and then you can use a bolt through the original grommets.
In a way, in that whole dash assembly, nothign works as well as the stock grommets.

Not actually knowing what a wood anchor looks like, I may just be copying Buddha's idea, but you might be able to cut that bolt down flush, drill a reasonable size hole in it, tap it, and just screw a bolt in from the outside.
My two other options would to either take something pliable and wrap it around the tachometer and jam it back in the case. Not exactly ideal, but it should keep it from shaking around too much, and if it didn't work out you could just pull the stuff back out. The other option, if it really annoys you, is to put some epoxy in there and pretty much just glue the tachometer to the case. Not at all ideal, but it also would hold it, and how often do you really need to remove it?
cramming some stuff inside the case might be the easiest solution for now
