Title: Broken mirror, where to get new ones cut
Post by: calamari on June 28, 2009, 01:47:00 PM
As I was changing the flimsy wire with a higher gauge one for my cheap mirrors with integrated turn signals, I kind of broke one of them  :tongue2:

Any ideas as to where to go to get new ones cut? I would like to get a pair of much better quality.
As you could imagine from looking at the pics, they were being held in place simply by hot glue.
:technical:

Any glass shop should be able to cut you new mirrors that you could glue back in if you take them the old pieces.  make sure to use a good quality glue tho. lol.

oh snap, threw the old pieces away lol. I guess I'll tell them to use the one left as a mold.. doesn't quite fit, but it will do.

Is the existing mirror flat or convex?

1)  If flat, glass shop.

2)  If convex, buy a couple convex replacement mirror blanks from Auto Zone and then go by your glass shop.

3)  Buy a $4 glass cutter and a cheap Wal Mart Mirror.  Learn to cut glass.
