Title: photoshop help
Post by: Canonball on July 01, 2009, 04:02:20 PM
so i've had photoshop on my pc for a while now and in desperate need to get it onto my mac... that way i can actually use it... but i don't want to spend $700 on it. adobe does offer some license transfer thing but the thing is i got photoshop in a way that adobe frowns upon (a guy got it for me with a serial number generator)... so, does anyone know if adobe would be able to find this out? or could i contact them with my photoshop info and be able to get a license to FINALLY be able to use it on my mac or am i outta luck?

they know, when you register stuff, or -try- to transfer stuff. photoshop is worth every penny for folks that make a living with it......... if you -don't-, then try The GIMP, it's free, and arguably the -only- free solution to photoshop.

that's the mac version.

(i have photoshop, gimp, and a few others on my macs ( 3 of them )) but am only an amature ...

come to think of it, i'm not really a professional at anything in life. :|

depending on Adobe, you MIGHT be able to download a trial version for you Mac and purchase a license for it...  but then again, you'd be paying the full retail price.

I use Gimp Myself on my Companies Web site and I have found I can do 95% of what I used to do with Photoshop and I can do it easier and faster.

The problem you are going to have is reading files that you have created in Adobe and converted them into a universal format. Unless it is a really high grade picture what I do is use Snag-it and grab whatever I want and then use gimp to edit the picture into what I need.

You weren't real specific about why you need Photoshop so I can only hope this will help you out.

Wait...

don't macs use the Intel chip?  My Mac friends keep telling me they can install Windows software on their Mac....  Have you looked into that?
