Title: adjusting idle problem.
Post by: bbaw8 on July 09, 2009, 09:45:07 AM
How do you adjust the idle. I was trying to look at my carbs to see if they were dirty and now that everything is back to normal, the bike idles very high. when I put it in first gear it  basically takes off. Before I removed my tank I adjusted the switch under the tank think it was the fuel line, would that have done it. How do I fix this?

There is a thumb screw sticking out the bottom between the 2 carbs.  I have seen them in bronze and plastic depending on the year of the bike.  Look in from the right side of the bike under the carbs and you should see it.  Be careful or wear gloves if your bike is already hot.  I have naked bikes, I don't know how hard it is to see on bikes with fairings.  Also make sure you have enough slack in your throttle cable(s).  Good luck

bbaw there is a recent post that covers this in great detail. Chanse was actually looking to modify his and there is a good diagram of it too.
