Title: Christiansburg, VA ride
Post by: natedawg120 on July 09, 2009, 05:35:09 PM
Anyone in the area that wants to go on a ride to benefit muscular dystrophy?  There is a ride leaving from the Christiansburg HD dealer and I am going to attend, just don't want to be the only non HD there again  :icon_lol: :icon_lol:

I would love to join ya.  I am having some mechanical issues with the bike but if I get it fixed by tomorrow I will let you know.  I am near Lynchburg, Va.

I don't really care if I am the only sportbike there.  There normally is one other group of sport bikes but they all have the 3' long swingarms or enjoy showing their skills after the last card stop by pulling sweet wheelies, me not so much.  I hope the guy that rides his 40 something Indian is there, that thing is beautiful.  I'll have to do a better job of taking pictures when i can this year :icon_lol: :icon_lol:

well, I have a few pictures not to many.  I was the only sportbike but everyone was great.  There was a bosshoss trike, victory cruiser, supercharged roadking.  I will get the pics online as soon as i can get them uploaded lol.

Here are the few pics i got that are worth posting, the weather was kind of crappy so the pics are for the most part horrible :icon_lol:

Not like the rest (http://www.radford.edu/~nmtyler/pics/MDA09ride.jpg)
1/2 the sea of harleys, and a guy that looks like he is wearing a mesh shirt but that's really just his hair (http://www.radford.edu/~nmtyler/pics/MDA09ride1.jpg)
biggest engine there-the bosshoss (http://www.radford.edu/~nmtyler/pics/MDA09Ride2.jpg)

They aren't great and didn't get many cause the rain but it was am enjoyable ride non the less.

Note: No bikes were harmed in the making of the worlds worst poker hand :icon_lol: :icon_lol:

I did also inspect and sit on a buell 1125r, it was pretty comfy when not running and couldn't start it cause it was inside.  However, the front fairing, which looks as wide as a snow plow in pictures only looks bigger and more snowplow like from the front.  I didn't ride it but am keeping my eyes peeled for a dealer test ride event ... but the fairing would have to go  :icon_lol: :icon_lol:
